Colliers Wood Chorus is a 75-strong community choir which sings all types of music from classical and world to pop. Our rehearsals are lively social occasions and our performances range from sing-songs in the pub to appearances in front of several hundred at the South Bank Centre. The choir is open to all ages and abilities, with no requirement to be able to read music. Enthusiasm and commitment are the qualifications you need. As the choir is very popular, we usually have a waiting list for all voice groups, and give priority to residents from the Colliers Wood ward (map in this document), as we maintain strong links with the local community.
Well, we did it!With Merton Music Foundation's Youth Choir, wind, brass and percussion, two pianos, spectacular lighting effects, projection of artwork from three schools and an audience of 350 including the Mayor of Merton, we well and truly raised St Barnabas' roof with our Carmina Burana Spectacular. All that hard work from so many people paid off and all we can say is thank you so much to everyone involved, whether performing, helping or both. Their generosity has been truly humbling and I hope everyone is as proud as we are of what we achieved together. And apologies for the stress caused by the tickets selling out - nobody expected that! As the dust settles (some of it literally), there will be more details added to the event page. If you have any pictures or comments please let us know so that we can publish them - we will credit you. Contact: info@collierswoodchorus.org.uk
